What to Expect from the Conference

"The Challenges of Educating the Seafarer of 2030”: the conference will develop a fruitful dialogue on the challenges of Maritime Education in the preparation process of the new generation of seafarers, covering issues such as the seafarers resilience at sea, the adaptation of young seafarers training to the modern requirements of the shipping industry where technology is a key factor, and the need for continuous training on environmental protection issues beyond regulatory responsibilities and international settings.

The conference will include a discussion of the representatives of the shipping companies about all the latest international trends in crew and executives’ selection, the diversification of their needs with the advent of new technologies in all sectors of the shipping industry, and general conclusions about the future of maritime employability.

The conference is organized by Metropolitan College’s Maritime Academy, one of the biggest educational institutions in maritime and shipping studies in South Europe. International speakers of major shipping companies and industry stakeholders will be welcomed.
